Since my writing routine is so important to me, and I’m a super visual person, I turned the 7 Steps that Will Improve Your Writing Routine into a writing routine printable.
It’s my first printable, so I’d really appreciate any feedback! Please let me know in the comments (or an email) if a different size or a more simple design would be better. I want my tips and resources to be as beneficial to my readers as possible.
It’s FREE to download. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Printable: 7 Steps that will Improve Your Writing Routine
You may have your own writing routine that is completely different from mine. If you don’t have a visual copy of your routine, you may find it helpful to create one. I have a written schedule of my whole day in my planner, but I also like having a visual of the routine that’s dedicated purely to my writing. I’ve got my writing routine on my wall where I can easily see it while I write.
Although I have my routine memorized, there is just something about seeing it that helps me follow it. Having a visual of my routine keeps me more accountable. I feel like a hypocrite with my routine glaring down at me when I don’t follow it. If I’m working in a messy space or letting Facebook distract me and I look up and see my schedule, it reminds me that I need to clean my space and avoid distractions. Or if I’m about to sit down and I realize that I haven’t eaten yet or I don’t have my water bottle, it encourages me to go eat something or fill up my water bottle. I know I write better when I follow this routine, and having a visual of my routine motivates me to follow it.
