Sometimes it can be hard to want to write. And that’s okay. We’re all human and prone to struggles. Including not wanting to write. Whether the struggle seems to last for a day, a week, or a month, don’t give up! There are ways to cure writer’s block.
When you don’t want to write, it’s a good idea to have a back-up list of ways to keep you motivated. A list of tricks you can use to put yourself in the right mindset to write. It’s even better to have that list visible. I’ve created such a list.
Printable: 10 Tips for When You Don’t want to Write
I’ve also turned the list into a printable. You can downloaded it and have access to my 10 tips. I’ve also created a space for you to add some of your own tips.
I use this list often enough to have most of it memorized. But there is something about having the list visible that makes it more useful. I don’t have to waste time trying to remember all of the tricks on the list, and seeing the list makes it easier to decide which trick I want try. Sometimes I am more inclined to try one trick instead of another. Sometimes there is a trick or two that I have no desire to try. (My motivation strategies don’t always motivate me!) That’s why it is so important to have options. And having those options visible, can make one option stick out over another.
If any tips on the list motivate you to write, I hope you will enjoy this printable. As you keep it visible or easily accessible, it will be more useful to you. Staying motivated to write can be one of the biggest challenges any writer faces, no matter how successful. Don’t let lack of motivation keep you from writing. Don’t let it keep you from accomplishing your goals and dreams. You can keep writing!
