Welcome to another post in the Realistic Writer Confessions series. This week has been much better than previous weeks and I’m excited to tell you all about it!
Confessions of a Realistic Writer
Summary of My Week
I worked on my novel most days, and I had some really big successes! I made concrete progress on my revision and I felt really motivated and accomplished after my writing sessions. It feels good to be writing again. I know my break was necessary, but I am glad I’ve been able to make time this week for myself and my writing. It hasn’t been a perfect week, but it’s been much, much better than the past month.
There were a few days where I almost didn’t write. It’s been a rough week and I almost forgot to write, or made the choice to put it off a few times. In order to help myself work on revising and getting through chapter 3, I didn’t let myself do any research. I was really enjoying my research, so it was hard to put that aside for a week.
I plan on finishing revision for chapter three tomorrow. I have two scenes left, so I’m really close! Finishing revision for this chapter will be a huge highlight for me because it was a chapter that was really overwhelming me. I didn’t think I could get through it. I felt unsure of what to keep and what to cut. But I was able to take it sentence by sentence and it’s so much better now than it’s original draft. My biggest accomplishment this week was powering through and proving to myself that I could do something I didn’t think I could do. I proved myself wrong in the best way.
Thoughts and Goals
This week, I want to keep revising and get back to a bit more research. I also have some big plans for this blog and I want to work on those as well. Last week, I mentioned I was working on a special project. On my Facebook group, I announced the project. I’m writing an Ebook! So that’s been taking a lot of my writing time, but I’m super excited about it.
Until next time,
