The Confessions series continues, and I’ve got a very honest, realistic post for everyone today. I normally post in the morning, but I didn’t have time to get this post ready in time. So you’ll see it was published in the afternoon. But later is better than never, right?
Unfortunately, this has just been a killer week and I haven’t been able to work on my YA WIP. But I’m hard at work on my ebook, so I’ll be talking a bit about that.
Confessions of a Realistic Writer
Summary of My Week
This week has been crazy, and family came first. And self-care. I had to take care of my little man and catch up on sleep whenever I could, and that meant not writing as much. When I was writing, I was working on my ebook. So that is coming alone nicely, and I had some successful moments with my ebook.
I had to return my library books without getting as much research done as I wanted to. I’ll just check them out again, but it was sad to hand them back to the library. A true mark of just how busy I’ve been. It was also sad not working on my YA novel. I keep putting it off when life throws me a curveball.
I’ve just about finished my ebook and I’ve sent it off to a few beta readers. I’m excited to hear what they think of it. I’m sure they’ll have plenty of suggestions for improvement. But that will make the book better, so I look forward to all the feedback. I also realized that I have to be more committed if I want to write. I have to make the decision that I am going to write even when life gets crazy. So I feel a new sense of commitment, and I’m excited to see what next week brings!
Thoughts and Goals
I’ve been a bit discouraged that I was doing well writing, but I seem to have quickly fallen off the horse. But then I tell myself it is okay because I know I will always get back on. I’m really good at recommitting myself, and although I may have my fair share of days when I don’t write, my overall writing life is pretty consistent. And that is a huge success for me.
This week, I want to work on writing more consistently. I’m going to aim for my 15 minute target, but gosh, if I only write for a minute, I’m going to write!
Until next time,
