There is a basic writing process for any story. Brainstorm, write, revise. And there are elements we know our writing must have. Character development, setting, and plot—just to name a few.
There is also a process for becoming a writer. However, this process is unlike the writing process. There are no rules; there is no right way or wrong way. There is so much to writing that is unique and individual to each writer. No two writers are the same. But sometimes we lose sight of that.
In a world with writing advice so easily accessible and many writing habits promising success, it can be hard to remain true to what you know works for you. Somewhere along the way, we forget what is essential to the writing process and what is unique to us as writers.
My goal is to help you identify habits and tips that will allow you to create your best writing lifestyle and to help you hone your craft so you can write phenomenal stories.
The Writing Pal is a website for all writers, aspiring or published, who are seeking tips, inspiration, and resources. It doesn’t matter if you are brainstorming, writing, or revising. I hope the tips and resources will provide the help and inspiration you need to know what to do next and to keep writing. My biggest goal is to keep writers writing.
My name is Shelby Bunker, and I am the author of Write Your Way. I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but it has taken me a long time to figure out how to write consistently and see progress in my writing. It’s been a lot of trial and error. But now I have a writing routine, and a writing life that I am satisfied with. I write YA Romance and finished my first novel in 2017 after years of working on it off and on. In November 2017 I also won NaNoWriMo with a 50,012-word novel. I read most genres, but particularly enjoy YA Romance. I also enjoy reading books about writing craft.
While I know you will find this website full of helpful information for all stages of your writing process, if you want more, don’t forget to subscribe.
And most importantly, dear fellow writer, keep writing!
